Cooking Tips for Perfect Air Fryer Green Bean Fries
Here are some of my tips for making crunchy, flavorful air fryer green bean fries:
- Use fresh, crisp green beans. Old or limp beans will be soggy.
- Pat the green beans dry before coating to help the flour and breadcrumbs stick.
- Fully coat each bean in the egg and breadcrumb mixture for a crispy exterior.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in a single layer for even cooking.
- Spray the beans with oil before air frying for extra crispiness.
- Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model. Check frequently for doneness.
- Toss the cooked fries with parmesan cheese or extra seasonings.

FAQs
Can you make green bean fries without an air fryer?
Yes, you can bake them in the oven. Coat the beans the same way then bake at 425F for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway. They won’t be quite as crispy.
Do you have to use fresh green beans?
I recommend fresh for the best texture, but you can use thawed frozen green beans. Just be sure to pat them very dry. Avoid using canned.
What’s the best oil to spray?
I like using olive oil or avocado oil sprays. Vegetable, canola, or coconut oil work too.
How long do they keep?
Green bean fries are best fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or oven to crispen up again.
Can you make other veggie fries?
Absolutely! I love making zucchini fries, carrot fries, and sweet potato fries in the air fryer too.
Enjoy experimenting with all the delicious possibilities the air fryer offers! Let me know if you have any other questions.
